1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Befor mobile application ("Befor", "the App", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Befor. Please read them carefully.

2. What Befor Does

Befor is a mobile security tool that analyses URLs, QR codes, and images to help users identify potentially suspicious or harmful content.

Important limitations:

• Befor provides risk assessments based on available data at the time of scanning
• Results are informational only and not a guarantee of safety or danger
• No automated system can detect all threats with 100% accuracy
• You remain responsible for your own online safety decisions

3. No Safety Guarantee

Befor does not guarantee that:

• A site marked "Good to Go" is completely safe
• A site marked "High Risk" is definitely harmful
• All unsafe sites will be detected and flagged
• Results will be accurate in all circumstances

Befor is a tool to assist your judgment, not replace it. Always exercise caution online regardless of scan results.

4. Eligibility

To use Befor you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age
• Be at least 18 years of age to make purchases
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not be prohibited from using the service under applicable law

5. Account Registration

To use Befor, create a free account using Google or Apple Sign-In.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate account information
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Scan Credits and Purchases

Free scans

Free plan users receive a limited number of scans. Free scan allowances may change at our discretion with reasonable notice.

Befor+ subscription

• Befor+ is an auto-renewing monthly subscription that includes AI deep scans (25 per month) plus unlimited basic scans. The price shown at purchase is charged each month until you cancel.
• The monthly AI scan allowance resets at the start of each billing period and does not roll over.
• Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Google Play (or App Store) account settings.
• If you cancel, Befor+ stays active until the end of the paid period; after it ends your account returns to the free plan (basic scans only).

Payments

• All payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Prices are displayed in your local currency at time of purchase
• All purchases are subject to the payment processor's terms

Refunds

• Refund requests are handled in accordance with Apple App Store and Google Play Store refund policies
• Subscription refunds (including partial billing periods) are handled in accordance with the Google Play / Apple App Store refund policies

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Befor only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use Befor to harass, harm, or target specific individuals
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our detection algorithms
• Use automated tools to make bulk scan requests
• Attempt to manipulate or game our detection systems
• Use Befor to scan content you do not have permission to analyse
• Circumvent rate limits or access controls
• Use Befor for any commercial scraping or data collection purpose
• Submit false reports or attempt to manipulate scan results

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination.

8. Intellectual Property

Our intellectual property

All content, features, algorithms, prompts, detection logic, brand assets, and technology within Befor are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of Befor without our written permission.

Your content

When you submit a URL or image for scanning, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely for the purpose of performing the requested analysis.

We do not claim ownership of content you submit for scanning.

9. Third-Party Services

Befor uses third-party services to perform analysis including Google Gemini AI, Google Web Risk, and others listed in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for:

• The accuracy or availability of third-party data
• Changes to third-party services that affect our results
• Third-party privacy practices

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BEFOR IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
• FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF RESULTS
• UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE
• THAT THE APP WILL BE FREE FROM VIRUSES OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BEFOR AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any financial loss resulting from reliance on scan results
• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses
• Damages arising from your use or inability to use the App

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability — in such cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Befor and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you submit for scanning

13. Privacy

Your use of Befor is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using Befor, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

14. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time
• Change pricing with reasonable advance notice
• Update these Terms at any time

We will notify you of material changes to these Terms by email or in-app notification. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.

15. Termination

By you

You may stop using Befor at any time. To delete your account and data, use the account deletion option in Settings or contact us.

By us

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately and without notice if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse our systems or other users

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Any remaining paid Befor+ subscription period is non-refundable upon termination for Terms violations.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Befor regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements.
